Just so you know

As you can see, this is being written on Thursday the 17th. The place we're staying now has no internet access and we have to travel about 30 km to an internet cafĂ© in downtown Banff, a town we'd like avoid as much as possible! I'm hoping I can get us caught up today. Tomorrow we're going on a 7-hour hike in Yoho National Park to see some of the area where the Burgess Shale is. This is an area Ivan has been interested in for many years. In 1909 a man named Charles Wolcott found fossils of animals previously unknown to science. In the ensuing century, thousands of these fossils were unearthed. I think Ivan is feeling like he has found the proverbial nirvana with the concept of our hiking in the area! It's a group hike - no one is allowed to hike in that area without a Parks guide -  and starts at 7:30AM!! We have an hour-long drive to get there from our hotel, so tomorrow will be a day of no internet! I will continue now with yesterday's adventures.
