Our hotel, the Johnston Canyon Resort, turned out to be strategically located for us to zip around taking in all the sights. The accommodations were several cabins, some of which were duplexes. We were in 5A, a duplex and it was quite comfy. The resort is known for a stunning series of waterfalls, next to which they built a path and occasional catwalk (more about that later!). We did the path which is almost 3km one way and goes steadily uphill. This photo is of one of the first waterfalls. I looked and looked for an American dipper - that's a bird for the non-birders - but never found one. Check out me on the catwalk in the next post.
