We got a surprisingly early start on Wednesday. Had a lovely simple breakfast, thanked our gracious host, Wayne, and departed the Griffin Lake Mountain Lodge around 8:30AM. We assumed that our days of getting lost on tangles of roads were done, but we were wrong! There is a lot of new construction going on within all the parks we are visiting. And I do mean a LOT. I'll try to post a photo after our drive back to Yoho tomorrow. The scale of this work is overwhelming, but it seems very organized and efficient.
The scenery in this area is breathtaking. There's something inadequate about that word when trying to describe these mountains. They are huge, imposing, beautiful, and everywhere! Our weather remained simply wonderful and we had stunning views of the mountains. It was a truly unforgettable drive into Yoho National Park.
